Save Ganga Save Dolphin event was organized in Varanasi school cluster by Vikas Evam Shikshan Samiti (VESS India), Varanasi and Centre for Environment Education (CEE) under Ganges River Dolphin Conservation Education Programme supported by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) In the event, VESS India team facilitated students on role of Ganges river Dolphin in the river ecosystem, this species is indicator of health of our rivers. It is designated as tiger of rivers, its conservation also indicates that we are saving our rivers including the holy river-The Ganga Students made paintings and pledged to take actions for conservation of Ganges river Dolphin and rivers At the occasion, cultural and award ceremony was also organized
CEE with support from National Mission for Clean Ganga conducted Mela at katerniaghat wild life sanctuary under ganges river dolphin conservation education programme. Mela was inaugurated by Chief guest Mr. Banshidhar Bauddh, Honorable State Minister , Samaj Kalyan Uttar Pradesh.
Centre for Environment Education and Vikas Evam Shikshan Samiti India implementing Ganges River Dolphin Conservation Education Programme supported by National Mission for Clean Ganga in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. As part of Programme Vikas Evam Shikshan Samiti and Dolphin school Childrens Academy Varanasi organized Ganges River Dolphin Darshan and Nature Tour for facilitating students on conservation of Ganges River Dolphin and river. At the occasion students also sighted Ganges River Dolphin locally known as Souns at Ganga-Gomati Confluence Kaithi Varanasi.
